Message : I went to the 4th annual KROQ Weenie Roast and I mainly went to see my favorite band No Doubt. When they performed they *ROCKED* Gwen got the audience to really get into it !!!!! They really knew how to wake up the crowd, especially with the song Just A Girl !!!!! If you didn't go to the Weenie Roast you really missed out on a great event !!!!!!!!!!

Message : Moved up to San Jose and the morning commute sucks because the only station that plays KROQ-like music yaks all morning. Anyway, for a bit of nostalgic curiosity (for you old listeners who remember when KROQ broadcast out of the "Freddie Snakeskin building"): What ever happened to the Swedish Eagle? What about April Whitney (who looked quite nice in a bikini calendar)? Did Richard Blade ever work in the central valley during the late 70s/ early 80s (I think the station was called Magic 98). (and for you Poorman fans) I am the only one who thinks Poorman showed the world he lost his grip on reality when he showed up on Request Video NAKED except for a strategically placed cap?

Why does Kroq choose to stop playing a paticular artist? Frank Black is a tremendous artist who rocks and is one of the last original and innovative performers around. He has a tremendous following and we would all love to hear him on Kroq much more. Why not play the single off of the "Cult of Ray" and see how the market responds? I'm sure it would be positive. Message : I have been out of Los Angeles for 1 year (as of last month), and I must say that after listening for 5 straight years of KROQ (when I was an student at the University of Southern California), to return home without it... life really sucks. There is one small alternative station out here in Rochester, NY, but there is no morning show that can even come close to kissing the feet of Kevin and Bean. They have such powerful wit, and sometimes stupid humor, but they are without doubt the best morning DJs that I have ever heard/will ever hear. I miss 80's new wave at lunch with Richard Blade, and I miss the WAAAY-gone Poorman (as crude as he was). It is unfortunate that few on this page remember the "OLD" loveline in its startup days... Message : Well, Back in the 80's KROQ was good, they played new music and local bands. Now KROQ sucks. It has become to commerical for its own good. Every 30 minutes they play the same four or five songs. It is really annoying to here these days. The only bright spot on KROQ is Jason Bentley and After Hours on Saturday nights at 1 A.M. If KROQ continues to play the commercial shit that they are, they will suck and fail just like KLOS did recently. For real new music and local bands try 88.9 KXLU or 89.9 KCRW, with the latter being the best music I've heard in L.A. in about three years.
