The following is part of a contribution I made to BME/Extreme.

I figured that some kind of neoprene with a Velcro closure would probably work the best. I went to Wal-Mart and purchased one those Bollinger SolarBelts for about $10. A SolarBelt is a thin piece of neoprene that is 40 inches long and 7 inches wide with a strip of Velcro sown to one end on the rubbery side. The idea is that you wrap the SolarBelt around your waist and do some exercise, causing your love handles to melt away.

I had a different plan for mine. I cut a one inch wide strip out of the SolarBelt, starting at the Velcro end, that is seven inches long; the same dimensions as my leather stretcher. I wrapped the neoprene stretcher around the base of my scrotum and anchored the velcro.

Problem solved! The neoprene causes me no irritation and I can wear it for as long as I want. It's also easier to get the new stretcher on than it was to try and snap the leather one closed and not pinch myself. It's also less expensive than buying successively wider stretchers. You can get a 1, 1 1/2, 2, and 2 1/2 inch stretchers from a $10 SolarBelt.

I was able to quickly move up to a 1 1/2 inch stretcher cut from the same SolarBelt. This is were I currently am with my stretching and plan to move up to two inches sometime soon. I find the neoprene much more comfortable than leather because it doesn't cut into my skin at all. The only problem I see is that a SolarBelt is a little thin and I imagine that I'll have to make longer

stretchers as they get wider. This will allow me to wrap the stretcher around my scrotum two or three times so the neoprene won't roll up.

For anyone who has trouble with leather or is on a budget, making your own scrotum stretchers from a SolarBelt is a fine alternative.
