Well Lyrrad, first I went to my local Wal-Mart and bought a Mityvac pump. These are use to test different vacuum sensors on vehicles and is also used for siphoning fluids. Mine cost $21.00. I also bought what is called a "glass cutting drill bit". It ran me about $5.00.
I took the bit home and put it into my electric drill and drilled a small hole in the Mason jar that I'd sellected. Make sure to drill the hole no larger than the hose adapter that you will be using! Be patient, because it's a little hard to get a hole started in the glass. I then took the vacuum hose to the pump and inserted one of the line adapters that fits into the hole that I had drilled then just pumped away! Simple, but a very effective way to have a variety of different sized cylinders! If you have any more questions just contact me.
