Tried a seal found on this site. (see link below) If your experimenting with sun tea jars,
try it. Go to any plumbing supply store and buy a rubber pipe connector.
If you can't find it, ask! (of course it's legitimate, so the stockboy won't know -
unless you tell him :-) Get a 4 inch to 3 inch sleeve. Most sun tea jars have a
4" diameter opening. The best seal I've found!
Also, for a great pump, I use my marine pump, crudely adapted to fit my jar.
My jar has a 7/8" diameter spout. Buy plastic tubing measuring 7/8" OD X 5/8" ID.
I only use about 3 inches of it. I then bought a mini shower hose, you know, the type used
in a sink. I use the fitting that goes over the faucett and insert the tip of my pump into
the fitting. The fitting is then inserted into the 3" tubing, which then fits over the spout
of the jar. Works great!
