Sun Tea Jar and a Heating Pad

I use a sun tea jar (with mixed results) and have noticed that my results are more dramatic when the temperature is very warm. So...I bought a heating pad.

Does anyone have any experience using a heating pad with a sun tea jar?

First, I pump while seated at my computer or while watching TV. This should give you some idea of my position and that of the jar while pumping.

I have several questions:
1. What is the best way to use the heating pad? Should it be placed under or over the jar? Will the pad be damaged if placed under the jar?

2. How high should the heat be set? Should I use moderate heat, or warmer than direct skin contact could tolerate?

Any help would be appreciated. I would like to get the best results with a minimum of problems.

Thanks in advance,
Tom L.
