The range you stated is not excessive. The PES Unit I have produces AC in the range of about 5-32 volts, and as long as you keep the electrodes below the waist as a safety measure, you should be okay. Another point hardly anyone mentions in these discussions of electro-stimulation is use conductive jelly to get a good connection, otherwise you might get a slight burn where the electrodes contact your skin. Use larger, rather than smaller, electrodes, to spread the current and not concentrate it on a small patch of skin. Also, try a longer current path, from your glans to your anus, so that you stimulate the prostate as well.
