I just got started this summer, and was set-up with the same equipment as yourself. Being warmer in the summer and the fact that I'm in Phoenix probably helped me even more in the beginning, as it relaxed my scrotum.
I was able to move up to the 1" in a matter of a month...then in another month, I was wearing the 1/2" AND the 1" together (1.5 lbs. weight).
Now that it's winter and colder (yes, enve in Phoenix) I am not making the same rate of progress as I was in summer. Nonetheless, I regularly wear both stretchers for a week at a time, including sleeping in them. My hope is that if I go all thru the winter with 1.5" and 1.5 pounds of weight tugging constantly, come hot summertime, I'll reap more length than if I just give up thru the winter. After all, I believe that I'm training my scrotum to be longer regardless of the temperature but I must admit that wearing my stretchers on a 35 degree day at the Grand Canyon got real uncomfortable, as my testicles were doing their damndest to pull up close and the stretchers wouldn't allow. Whatever you decide, DO try to work up to where you are sleeping in them with regularity, as the warm bed will keep your scrotum relaxed and comfy. This strategy had damn well better work, because I've spent good money on stretchers and had to put up with itchy scrotum from time to time...I don't want all that effort to go to waste. I'll be happy to report results, but I sense that as long as it is cold outside, I'm going to be making minimal gains, if any.
