I have noticed a defininant differeence is gains over the last year or so that Ive been ball pumping myself. If I pump once or twice a month I maintain my pumped size for several days and very slowly return to normal over a 5 day time frame. I easily reach 14-16" in three hours or so. If I pump once or twice a week it apears I quickly return to normal size in as little as 48 hours. I am guessing this is some type of reaction from the body. I dont use a vacume gauge I judge preasure by pumping just enough to cause an erection, I guess that is close to 5hg.
Try longer times to keep your results going.
