I got ahold of Grainger and got a shaft collar from them with 3 more on backorder. I bought the 1L724 collar which is 1 3/8" inner diameter. I stopped at the nearest men's room from the store to put it on. It feels great and I can't wait to put more on. They were only $17 and they are stainless steel.
I've read a couple of places where guys are putting something on below the bottom collar to help distribute the weight across the balls. Could someone let me know what the deal is here? Any infor sent to my email would be appreciated.
