What is vacuum penis pumping?

A clear, usually acrylic cylinder is placed around the penis. At the end of the cylinder a hose is connected to either a hand pump, or an electric pump, which evacuates air from the cylinder. As the air is removed from the cylinder, the penis is pulled further into the cylinder and towards the walls of the cylinder, making the penis larger.

Does pumping work? How long will the results last?

This depends on a number of factors. The length of your pumping session, the frequency of your pumping sessions, and the sizes you achieve with the pump on. It would be possible, with daily pumping to maintain the increases constantly if you have the time to pump that often. Most increases are temporary and the penis returns to its normal size after a day or so. Your penis will stay quite large for at least several hours after pumping. There are no well documented scientific studies of the long term effects of pumping but it stands to reason, that with continuous use of vacuum pumps over a long period, that increases could be made permanment. Many pumpers who have been at it for several monthes or years will cite increases of an inch or more, though documented hard evidence is difficult to come by. There are numerous pictures and document cases of people stretching lips, earlobes, necks, so it stands to reason that continuous vacuum pumping over a period of months or even years would result in a larger penis. If you are circumcised you can also expect more loose skin on your penis, so that you begin to develop a skin coverage of the penis head (a new foreskin).

How much of a gain can you expect?

The answer to this question is quite obvious. It'll vary for each individual. Most get much larger increases in girth than in length. The area just below the head of a penis which has been circumcised will often get much larger than the rest of the penis in girth, after being pumped for some time. It'll form sort of a fat, thick doughnut around the penis, making the penis looked somewhat deformed. This occurs only with long pumping sessions. The swelling in this area is disproportionate to the rest of the penis, and usually takes longer to go decrease in size than the rest of the penis. It's difficult to say how much of an increase in length will occur, but it's possible, while in the cylinder to gain as much as 2 inches or more in length. Again, the increases in girth will be much larger, and longer lasting. If you're more concerned about getting increases in length it is suggested that you not buy a cylinder which is too much larger than the width (though don't get it too small in diameter - you need some room) so that your penis will get more of a pull in length, in a long cylinder, than of pulling outward (girth).

How do you get started?

While you may have noticed a number of penis pumps in adult bookstores, or in the backs of magazines, for someone who is serious about enlarging their penis through vacuum pumping, only higher quality, more expensive pumps will work properly. The principal is the same for all of the pumps, the difference being that most of the inexpensive ones are not able to achieve a high enough level of vacuum to really work well, whereas the more expensive ones have higher quality parts, form good seals with the body, and achieve high vacuum levels. The inexpensive cylinders also tend to be made so cheaply that when high levels of vacuum are achieved the cylinder actually starts to collapse, kind of as if you were to suck the air out of a two liter plastic bottle. Another thing that happens with them is the base of the cylinder will flare out, as you apply increasing levels of vacuum, eventually destroying the cylinder. You can get an excellent pump, which includes a cylinder, and a hand pump, for as low as $100.

General Advice on pumping :

Shave the base of your penis and testicles back about an inch or more so that when you put the cylinder on you can get a good seal. You may wish to shave the day before you pump, because if you cut yourself while shaving and immediately apply the pump, any bleeding may be aggravated ( though usually not by much...) It helps to apply the pump with an errection, though it's not required. The pumps do have medical uses for men who suffer from impotency. Pumps can be used to obtain an errection, maintaining it errect with a ring, removing the pump to engage in intercourse. Begin pumping up. You may wish to press the cylinder against your body to keep your testicles from being pulled up into the tube. This is painful for some men (though some men pump them as well, to really big sizes). The important thing to remember is to take it slow and gradual. Increasing the pressure too rapidly will cause bruising. Don't be overly worried about it though. Enjoy the experience. If you're healthy, any bruising usually goes away after a day or so. Never push to the point of pain. If it becomes at all painful, release some of the pressure. Pump it up until you're at the highest vacuum level you can comfortably obtain. Leave it on for a while, watch television, read a book, surf the internet... To obtain the best results from pumping you need to go for longer periods of time, an hour or more. If you have more time, go for more. Your increases will be larger. As your penis gets larger, increase the pressure some more, again, only to the point where you are still comfortable and not in any pain. Most men are amazed at the size increases which are possible. I read one faq which discussed creating your own pump out of PVC pipe. I wouldn't recomment this at all. If you can't see your penis, you're unable to monitor progress, or see if there is any discoloration. You need to be able to watch so that you can be alerted to the need to stop. Plus it can be quite pleasurable to see your penis double or more in girth, and gain an inch or two in length. It's well worth the cost to buy a professionally made pump and cylinder.

Is it dangerous?

When done carefully, it is perfectly safe. The most frequent problem is someone who is overly anxious to see their penis very large, and goes overboard on the pumping, applying too much pressure to the penis. Applying too much pressure can result in temporary discoloration of the penis, and water blisters. Most symptom usually disappear after a few days. The important thing to remember is to go slow and increase the vacuum gradually over a longer period of time, so that the change in size is not traumatic and does not cause damage to the penis. Long sessions are better than short high pressure ones.

(1/30/97) Warm Water Pumping

Never use an electric powered pump or toy anywhere near water. You risk electrocution and may be severely injured or die. Never use water with an electric pump. If you're using a hand pump many pumpers have reported that pumping while in the shower with warm or hot water can be very pleasurable. The warmth may also help the penis to expand. The brass hand pump used by most pump sellers will work either dry or with water. Give it a try.
