The tube I used I got at a pet/fish store. They have the vacuum/siphon tank cleaners that have a large long tube ranging from 1.0 inches to 2 inches in diameter with a narrow tube coming out of the top. Using the stove I was able to heat the plastic up and bend the first 1/2 inch over so the sharp edge was no longer digging into my grion. Then I Got a 1.125 diameter intertube cut about 7-8 in long. Streched the innertube over the end of the tube and then pushed the rest of the innertube in the tube. For a hand pump I got a mighty vac from walmart auto or sears has them.

For the 2 stage pump I use the glass piece that you would see on old style lamp or a oil lamp. got a rubber sink stopper for the small end and made a hole in it for the hose. You can do the same for the innertube or get liquid latex at a hoobby store or costume store.
Start out slow and build up the pressure over a couple months.
