Yes, you should lubricate or else you might get bruises or little red spots. It also makes entering the female easier but wipe off excess first.
I find "Fruit of the Earth" Aloe Vera hand lotion gives me the best seal and if pretty cheap.
If you plan to have intercourse without a condom you should use something that won't affect your female. KY is good but expensive. I use Equate lubricating.
