I use both, a VacuTech hand pump and a CTC electric. They both work fine and are built to last. The CTC gives a better pump but it is not quiet like the hand pump. I can use water with either. I think the VT cylinders are much better.
The best thing for you to do is go to thier web sites and read up on what claims they make, then come back to this forum with specific questions about each of them.
