This has happened to me just once in maybe ten trips. The dude asked if he could search my bag, and i said why not? So he took out the tube and looked it over, smirked a little, and put it back. I've never had a female search my bag w/ pump, so i wouldn't have any advice on how to handle them. they probably would be more embarrassed than anything. (if they're not, maybe you could hook up :)
Try packing the tube and the pump away from eachoother. i'd imagine a tupe and a "trigger" look kind of suspicious together, but if they're mixed around with other clutter they don't catch all that much attention.
