I have been using extra strength Rogaine, and I also got a Doctor's prescription for Propecia. I was starting to lose a little hair on the crown of my head (about a 2 inch bald spot)and I started developing a receeding hair line.

I am 39 years old. I started my treatment 6 months ago. I shower in the morning and use Progaine shampoo to clean the folicles, then I apply the Extra Strength Rogaine after my hair drys. I repeat the same procedure at night before bedtime.

I also take one Propecia tablet in the morning and also at night.

The results are encouraging. However, the new hair is EVERYWHERE. My moustache is thicker and darker, my eyebrows are darker, and there is new thick hair growth all over my back and chest. I have new hair growth on my fingers, hands, and arms, to the point that people notice how hairy I have become. They remark: "Oh, look how much hair you have on your hands!" I feel like a CAVEMAN!

As good as these results are, the hair growth on the crown of my head has been less noticeable. There has been a little new growth above my forehead.

If you want information on Propecia you can call 1-800-830-PERKS. The medication in Propecia is called "finasteride" and it comes in tablets og 1 milligram each. You can obtain it generically through other drug companies at a much lower cost (80% less) than the price Merck charges for Propecia. The reason is that finasteride has been used for years to reduce a man's prostate. The prostate drug medicine is EXACTLY the same medication (finasteride) and it is much cheaper than Propecia.
However, let me warn you. The prostate version of finasteride comes in 5 milligram tablets which is more than you should take. You should cut the tablets into quarters so you end up with 1 mg pieces. This would save you a lot of money.

Finasteride has a side effect. You have less desire for sex, and you will have difficulty achieving an erection, and a decrease in the amount of semen. (However, you'll have one hell of a nice prostate gland) Not to mention more hair. To overcome this problem, I use viagra if I feel I need to. Of course, you should become more horny if you abstain from sex for a week or two. I eat shellfish and it also seems to help.

Eating Oats can help grow hair. I have also heard that reducing excessive salt in your diet will reduce hair loss. Keeping your head covered from the hot sun is common sense. Don't use a blow dryer on your hair with the hottest setting.
If you hear of anything else that works better than what I'm already doing, please let me know. Hope this reply is not too long.

The last thing I wanted to mention is that I also feel that pumping has helped my blood circulation and my cock is thicker and it hangs longer when its soft. Since the finasteride makes it more difficult to get an erection, the pumping helped offset this problem. In combination with viagra and pumping, I feel that I have overcome any negative that the finasteride may have caused. Don't get me wrong, I can still get a "hard on" without viagra (although it is less often because of the finasteride), it is easily remedied WITH Viagra.
