You are displaying your medical ignorance here. The great bulk of the ejaculate is not produced by the testicle. More the prostate. If the ducts to the testicles are cut (as in a vasectomy) there is no noticeable difference in the volume of the ejaculate. The testicles produce sperm cells, and while they are indeed important, they make only a tiny percentage of the total volume. You did give this person wise advice tho to seek medical attention if he suspects something wrong.
