I would suggest the cheapest pump possible for a
beginner, only because, if you haven't tried it,
you won't know if you'll like it. If you try it
with a cheap pump like the fireman's pump, and you
like it, or are serious about getting results (not
using it for sexual reasons) then you might think
about investing in a gauge pump and a tube sized
for you personally.
It's worth the $20 bucks (for a cheap pump) to
find out you do like pumping as opposed to spending
$100 (for good pump and cylinder) to find out you
don't like it.
But that's just an opinion
