Hello Newbie. Try going to a two stage tube. I know they are more expensive but are well worth it. With the larger second stage the ball sac is not pushing the tube down lower on the abdomen making it difficult to seal below the ball sac. That is usually where the leaks will be with a large single. I use a 3 1/2" x 5" x 9" two stage most of the time and don't have near as much trouble with sealing as I did when I tried to use a 3" single, just like you are. I also have a 4 1/2" x 6" x 9" and a 5 1/2" x 7" x 9" two stage and use hot water in the tube and after working up from the smallest to the largest, I still have no trouble with sealing. I have shaved in the past but found that with a two stage it really wasn't necessary. I weigh 165 lbs and find that the 3 1/2" x 5" x 9" is jsut about the perfect tube for me. If you are much heavier then I would go up 1/2" on each size. Happy pumping, Beachballs.
