imho, the best we can do here is to share our experience. What works for me, may not work for you, but at least the suggestion was made.

I read a post here which suggested buying vitamin E in gel caps, clipping them open and applying the oil to the bag skin. I went to my local health food store,(Wild Oats), and found vitamin E oil in a roll-on bottle - easy to use, no muss, no fuss. After having used vitamin E oil for 7-10 days I noticed my bag skin was no longer leathery! The skin had returned to its normal soft self. I am sold! It works! I have used vitamin E oil twice a day ever since - each morning & evening.

On to Bag Balm...

About a week ago I had major chaffing/cracked skin problem. (As always, when I develop some chaffing, I remove the rings and allow my bag skin to heal before I go back to ring wearin'.) It was my day off from work so all day long I applied vitamin E oil to my chaffed skin. I would say I applied the oil about every 1-2 hours. The next morning I awoke to a set of balls that looked scary! The skin looked worse than the day before! I had read a post here from a guy who had scarring on his balls as a result of too much chaffing... I didn't want this happening to me.

I went to a grocery store,(Fred Meyer), and found some Bag Balm in the health and beauty section. It comes in a cute little green can with a pic of a cows' head surrounded with clover on the lid,("Since 1899, Bag Balm has been the farmer's friend...." it says on the can).

I massaged the balm into my bag skin, as I had with the vitamin E oil, all day. The next morning my balls looked 80% better! Another three days and my balls were back to normal and I had my rings on once again! Bag Balm works great!

From now on you will find both vitamin E oil _and_ Bag Balm in my medicine cabinet! I am certain there are other products on the market that work well to help chaffed skin, and if you know of them, post them! That is what this forum is all about - sharing our experiences. And the above is my experience.

All the best!

(FYI: Bag Balm contains 8-Hydroxy Quinoline Sulfate 0.3% in a petrolatum lanolin base.)
