for starters, throw away the cheap piece of crap you bought. the squeeze-bulb pumps you gget at a sex shop are way to chintzy and weak to achive any kind of results. the unfortunate reality is that yes, you'll spend at least fifty bucks, probably seventy or eighty on a pump that will actually work. you need to buy a well-made vacuum device, one that won't let air escape, with a tight seal. you'll also have to buy good tubes, not the ones with the "release "valve"", basically a stupid fucking hole that you have to keep your finger over. how goddamned comfortable is that?

most companies, like san francisco pump works, or joel kaplan (the one i currently use - look them both up on the net), sell packages, including a pump and tube. these are goood buys for the beginner. they're hand operated and relatively cheap (in the $60 to $130 range for a set) and they work adequately for any of the guys here. a hand pump usually does NOT come with a pressure guage, so if and when you get one, TAKE IT EASY. it's better to pump for a long time, not with a heavy vacuum. little red spots (peticheal hemmhorages) are a big red stop sign. they mean you're going too hog wild.

squeeze bulb pumps can't maintain the constant vacuum that's needed to really engorge your cock.

shaving, i think, is not a necessity. maybe a trim around the edges with some scissors, but as long as you have lube and a fine seal at the base of your dick, the pump will work fine. shaving gives you nasty fucking red bumps.

one thing to consider is buying a few rubber cock rings at our sex shop. not anything too tight, but a little bit of constriction can help you keep the engorgement on your cock for longer. supposedly, this also helps you gain quicker.

as far as gains, here's the key - don't expect too much too fast. I've been pumping for about a year, and have gained 1/4 inch in erect length. i seem to hang longer and thicker flaccid. obviously, not huge gains, but enough to keep me interested. (i started at 7 1/4, annd noot top off the ruler at a little more than 7 1/2 without any pumping.) also, thickness seems to be the easiest thing to gain. this ometimes involves graduating to larger cylinders.

right now i'm anxiously awaiting my CTC XL 1000 in the mail. i hope this electric pump is even more effective, so i can reach my eventual goal of 8 inches by the end of next year. we'll see, i hope i didn't blow $360!!

keep at it, bro! it takes patience, but it can be well worth it!
