Just got the CTC a week or so ago myself. Pretty low-tech construction. The tubing and and cylinder are a real joke. I've seen better cylinders on the cheapo pumps like the ones you find at adult bookstores. The tubing, while functional, does not use the standard pump connectors. By screwing one of the standard pump connectors into the open end of the CTC tubing, I can attach a standard pump line and a standard cylinder to the CTC pump.

I must admit that the pump I get from this setup (rather modified from the standard CTC product) is excellent. I've pumped larger than ever with this. However, you should be prepared to do a bit of "surgery" on the CTC to get it into a useable state.

Is it worth the money? Probably not. I imagine they're making a mint off of these things. Is it better than a constant vacuum pump. Probably yes. If someone out there takes the basic idea and actually put out a quality product with quality components and sells for the same, or similar, price as the CTC pump, they should have more business than they know what to do with.

One other thing, the CTC pump tends to leak oil, so put a towel or something under it otherwise you'll ruin your carpet.
